KEN LUDWIG’S THE THREE MUSKETEERS
KEN LUDWIG’S THE THREE MUSKETEERS in the Tatum Theatre at The University of Southern Mississippi. The primary goal of the lighting design was to tell the story through a series of tableaux, as if the audience was watching the pages of a story book come to life. By using exaggerated highlight and shadow with bold color and texture choices, I emphasized the drama and emotional intensity of the stage pictures in order to make a tableau as moving as a romantic painting. As The Three Musketeers jumps from scene to scene with the same level of heroism and conviction, the lighting design had to illustrate the romantic extremes of good and evil.
