Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, Theatre Educator
Caleb S. Garner's work in the theatre has led him to design throughout the Northeast, Southeast, and Deep South regions of the United States. Well versed in music, literature, carpentry, performance, and psychology, Caleb's passion lies within the realms of lighting design, music, and pedagogy.
Caleb is a meticulous leader who easily gains the respect of his co-workers with strong communication and organizational skills. He is committed to a high standard of quality in his work and settles for nothing less. His strong personality, sense of humor, and passion for his work make him pleasant to collaborate and create with. Always intellectually curious, Caleb approaches all of his work with a zealous passion and a craving to learn and share the wealth of knowledge.
Caleb is a proud graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi with an MFA in Lighting and Sound Design and Technology, and is a graduate of Catawba College with a BFA in Design and Production (Lighting Emphasis), and a BA in Theatre Arts Education. Caleb enjoys turning large pieces of wood into smaller pieces of wood (sometimes mistakenly called furniture), painting walls (often with permission) and playing with things that spark and smoke.
Caleb Currently serves as the Resident Lighting Designer and the TheatreWings High School Apprenticeship Co-Coordinator at the Charleston Stage Company and serves as an adjunct lecturer and sound supervisor at the College of Charleston.
